Second walk by the Scarborough Bluffs - Bellamy Ravine

After walking near Rosetta McClain gardens we then went a little further east to Bellamy Ravine. An easy path down to the lake and a slightly different part of the bluffs - not so spectacular perhaps as further West, but still unique (for me!) and a not-too-busy trail.

Something that caught my eye on the way down to the lake. Perhaps you can identify the specific type of fungus if you are a mycologist. (as always, click on any picture to enlarge)

Then a panoramic of Lake Ontario. The U.S. is over there somewhere.

Other than the road/pathway (and the rocks to stop erosion) it's mostly scenery and birds down here. Here's a shot of the bluffs in this area:

And the trail along the water.

At the base of the trail down is this fascinating sculpture. It is called 'Passage' by Marlene Hilton Moore (see that link for more pictures) and resembles a giant fish skeleton perhaps. It shows some recent dates of interest along one side, and some more extensive (going back 23,000 years to when Lake Iroquois covered this area) along the other.

Back up the trail and ready for one more walk by the lake in Scarborough (to be continued)
